A macular hole mostly caused by vitreous shrinkage which causes a blurred spot in the eye. This can sometimes be corrected by a Vitrectomy. Air is inserted in the eye to close the hole and over a few weeks it continues to close further. This is an artistic view of the air bubble getting smaller.
I had a vitrectomy. This is a medical operation to help the sight return to a tolerable state after a macular hole. I have 95% recovery of the sight in the eye, however, I was diligent regarding the head-down position for recovery byothe doctor’s directions. This is a two set artistic series showing the process I experienced during this healing process. 1) The first two two images show the before and after of a macular hole and a victrectomy. 2. The second shows the slow disappearance of an air bubble that was left in the eye after a vitrectomy. The air slowly disappears into the body. |
